Have interior gut/reno job.
They are showing path of travel in cellar to the stairs to get the equipment out. Even in sections this is completely impossible to get up the stairs, correct?

I guess they could chop it up. Maybe I'll tell them to have the laborers do this once we de-energize and make safe.

Can you put planks or rollers on the stairs with a chain fall at the top and pull it up?

With or without rigging equipment, consider how much weight the stairs will safely handle.

Unless you want to spend a lot of time chopping things up, I think hiring some riggers is the best plan (and the transformer is going to be a bear whatever you do).

I'm not sure how common it is but the metal stairs at the last facility I worked were limited to a 1,000 lb load.
The transformer could be 4X that.
You definitely need to do some research.
