GEC size reduction allowed by NEC?

Yet, the 2008 NEC handbook exhibit 725.3 shows an oil burner motor being part of a Class 1 circuit. If these automatic doors are controlled as part of the fire system, I think the AHJ could apply 725.31.
IMO If the circuit provides the power that moves the door the circuit is not a Remote-Control or Signaling Circuit.

I can see that this may not be a remote control or signaling circuit, yet there are remote control and signaling circuits that supply a motor of equal or greater power. Just an observation - not trying to justify that it is something it isn't.

A valve damper is considered a control circuit and it has a motor in it.

Connect it to a circuit where it is the only load and some would argue it is not a control circuit, just like the door operator.

I really don't know what it is if it is stand alone.
