And since there are two ground rods at this dwelling a #6 copper is all that is required for this 400 amp service. What would you size for the gas bonding? It is required in this jurisdiction.
Probably need to check with the local AHJ that has modified the rules. NEC alone you don't necessarily need a bond wire directly to the gas piping. The EGC in the branch circuit to the furnace is sufficient and chances are the gas piping/valve within the furnace are mechanically bonded to the frame of the furnace.
As mentioned certain CSST gas piping has additional bonding requirements, but those are product/listing driven and not NEC driven requirements.
