The highest load I’ve seen at a residence, was 200 amps, and that was in the Dominican Republic. All incandescent lighting, pool, jacuzzi, minisplit and water heater in every bedroom. The 200 amp breaker eventually tripped, so the utility came out and replaced it with a 225.

Thats definitely the best quick fix for a pesky tripping breaker, throw a bigger one in there! 😂

Ive never gotten demand data for a residence, but have for commercial buildings many times. I am always so surprised at how low it is that at first I used to always think I must be reading it wrong, gave the utility the wrong address, or they gave me the wrong meter's data!
Yeah there was a huge study done on residential demand that is making its way thru the hoops to the 2026 NEC, and I think one of the issues they are settling is adding EVSE's to residential services. Some PI's proposed hitting EVSE's with a continuous factor in the service calc, while others support lumping them in with the demand factors.
The residential service factors go back to the days of tube radios and record players now kids listen to music on their phones.
