I just bought a new 22KW Generac whole house generator. I bought a manual double through switch made by Eaton. No where in the advertising brochures or manuals does it say the exercise cycle will only work with a generac auto transfer switch. When you contact customer all they say is buy the ATS after laughing when I said I had bought a double through switch. When you spend thousands of dollars buying their product it is in very poor taste to be laughed at after being scukered in by their advertising. I did not buy the ATS because I have a old house with the load center in the middle of the house and the job would be enormis to go the ATS route not to mention the cost. What I would like to know is their a way ( jumper wire here rocker switch there) that would enable the exercise cycle to operate. I already have one 120v utility power circuit to power the battery charger. I have a 240v utility close that would be easy to get to the generator control panel. Sensing utility power seams to be the key but but I am truly just guessing. I need help from someone who knows the answer.

You would need to call a company or individual that deals with generator installs. We aren't allowed to assist DIY.
