I recently came accross a customers generator that was connected to a 4 pole ATS. The electrical contractor did not install a system bonding jumper between the grounded and ungrounded conductor per NEC. Which also ment that he did not install a grounding electrode conductor to the generator. The generator is located on the roof of the building so driving a ground rod is not a possiblilty. The contractor wants to pull the grounding electrode conducter from the ufer ground bar located in the building through the conduits that connect to the gensets main disconnect. Would this be acceptable per the NEC?
