Ran across this today.
New work in progress.
The way I see it is you need four pole ats.
There were talking changing the generator from an SDS to an optional stand by since they have unswitchd neutrals im the ats's.

Both buildings have GFI protection in the switchgear. I see this as a issue causing the GFI to trip due to the neutrals of the two systems tied together through the generator and ats's. Plus would this lead to recirculating currents issues.

Here Is a rough sketch.
I recommend they contact the engineer.

I'm I understanding it correctly.

I have read that if you don't switch the neutral in a ATS gfi protected main you're asking for trouble. But I'm not sure if code requires it.

Thank you. Just wanted to make sure I was not overlooking something. Hopefully it will come back for engineering revised. They did not take it very well when I brought it up.

this is interesting since we are looking at doing something similiar. but..we dont take our 13.2 into the building. something else thats been perplexing me is --- we use this point in our loop system as our "open" to keep these two buildings (oceans and dolphin) separated under normal conditions. the talk is to get one larger genset to serve both buildings emergency systems.
