Generator Inlet Indoors?

In my '23 code update class I understood that generator inlets can not be installed indoors any longer. Working through section 702.12 it appears that only inlets for generators 15kw and less must be installed outside the building. 702.12(C) appears to allow the commercial style camlocks inlets indoors still.

Is there any other section prohibiting a generator inlet over 100amps indoors?

The prior section 702.12(B) has the restriction for the inlet to be outdoors for portable generator connections of 15KW or less.

No...violation of 400.12(3).
What's the purpose of allowing over 15KW but denying it by the rule for cords? Why not just say all inlets shall be outdoors?
Lots of commercial/industrial buildings I work on have a large threaded pipe with caps on it, or similar opening in the wall, to facilitate passing large cables inside for backup-to-the-backup type things, and staying away from doorways.

Now the question is a sleeve through the wall a hole through the wall?
400.12(2)
Where run through holes in walls, structural ceilings, suspended ceilings, dropped ceilings, or floors.
My opinion would be that a sleeve for the passage of the cables is not a violation of 400.12(2), but this one that I can see going either way, so only YOUR Authority Having Jurisdiction, knows the answer for your area.

Can it be considered to be temporary use?

The fact the inlet itself isn't exactly temporary is the part that possibly complicates this. But then the 2023 change kind of eliminates being able to do that if the inlet needs to be outside anyway.

Can it be considered to be temporary use?
Is there a rule in 590 that says 400.12(2) does not apply? I don't recall one.
590.2 All Wiring Installations.
(A) Other Articles.
Except as specifically modified in this article, all other requirements of this Code for permanent wiring shall apply to temporary wiring installations.
