Siemans makes a factory made little interlock device designed to go between the top right and next in line below it breakers. If you back feed the panell of course you must of course secure the back fed breaker per code. That done you then have the breaker below th back fed main which controls the input from the gen set typically in small installations 30 amp 2 pole. Guess what? There is no provision in the panel to securte the generator beaker in anything other than the first position. These interlocks are installed on a routine basis in this application all the time. How do you get away with not securing the generator breaker?
The supplier says I am the only person he has ever heard of who has brought this up before. Am I missing something here? Is it ok to not secure the gen breaker?
