Generator room ventilation and winding temperature

i measured windspeed through the louvers and found it 7.2 m/sec.

i feel this way too high...( 2.5m/sec is the maximum )

I think Extra openings have to be provided to bring down the windspeed to 2.5 m/sec

Cheers.

7.2 M/sec ?? dang that way too much for the lovers to handle.

Try to add more lovers or oversized it to slow it down.

There is one tip I can tell if the room ventation is too small even with engine driven radiator fan is take a quick peek at the air restriction filter or use the vaccum gauge or water collum gauge you should not have to deal with serious pressure diffrenance at all.

I know I dealt with spray booths most useally run about 1.5 to 2 M/sec.
and they do have water collum gauge to inditaced {tell } the differance.

Merci,Marc

That won't fix anything. That was yesterday's problem.

I'm guessing chater is more concerned with today's problem - dealing with the existing installation with the resources he has available.

carl

the guy that designed the room may well have misdesigned it, if he knew what all was going in the room.

if that is the case, there may well be legal action that can be taken to recover costs relating to fixing the problem and for damages that may already have happened to the generators by operating in such a high temperature environment.

i realize this is way above the pay grade of the OP, but he should certainly pass whatever he finds on to someone who can see it gets to someone at the appropriate pay grade.
