Hello,
In years past, when synchronizing generators a method called the one light out or 3 lights out has been taught to indicate synchronization. Would the same methodology hold true when using CFL's in stead of incandescent lamps? I cant find anything to specify one or the other. My thoughts lean toward NOT using CLF's for this test.

Thanks,

The time delay involved in turning on a CFL would make it impractical, if not downright unsafe, to rely on them to indicate proper synchronization.

I don't think LEDs would work either (dimmable, maybe?) since the whole procedure relies on the intensity of the lamps.
Any lamp that goes out completely while a substantial voltage is still applied (e.g. LED ,or CFL, or even neon) will not be suitable for this use.
