I think its crazy that they are supplying their own tools. I know if I made my men supply all the tools of course I would make more money.
You really think so?
Just how long until the tools they purchased get "stolen" at the moonlighting job they went to at 4:30PM Friday?

Dateline: Monday morning 8:00AM
Employee: Geez boss, I dunno....I thought everything was stowed away on the truck when I left the last job

Boss: Have no fear my loyal employee! Just take my credit card and replace them...we have work to do today.

Lather, rinse, and repeat for each and every employee...at least once every 3 years...increase that ratio as you fire men for being not-so-loyal and must hire a new loyal employee of dubious loyalties.

But I probably wouldnt have anybody working for me.
I'd work for you....but only until you purchased me a brand new set of service truck tools...then you'd fire me :D

I would look for another employer. I provide my own basic tools, the company provides the rest.

I am in agreement with you guys. Any thing past basic hand tools should be on the EC. If you do go out and buy a bunch of tools out of your pocket to stock HIS van with and one day you decide to leave this employer I guarantee he will swear those are HIS tools and you are trying to steal them. If HIS van is broken into will HIS insurance cover YOUR tools? If YOU are out sick one day will some one else have access to the van and YOUR tools? And since the EC is being so nice to you by giving you a van to drive, to jobs HE is making money on, do YOU feel the need to buy the gas for HIM also?

These same employees would break you weather you bought the tools or they did. A thief is a thief.

You don't have much in the bank because your buying tools for your employer!! I'd use waht I already had, and if the boss wants things done faster, then he can buy the needed tools.

PS How much is the raise going to be?

4 an hour. I could make allot more if I stay working out of state with my comany, but with my wife and my house at home it is hard.
