GFCI load side limits

Is there a limit to how many devices you can chain together off a GFCI load side. I was looking thru the code and had no luck. A friend told me he got an exam question wrong when he put no limit but the online class did not give a code reference.

There is no limit in the NEC.

At one time some GFCI devices had a limit, in the instructions, on the number of downstream devices, but I don't think there ever was a code rule.
