210.8 (B) covers non dwelling units and no requirement exists
210.8 (A) 7 applies to dwelling units

Rewire, I was just about to type the same thing as you but decided to actually look at the book. Assuming that you are on the 2008 210.8(B)(5) is an addition and reads "Sinks- where receptacles are installed within 1.8m (6 ft) of the outside edge of the sink". There is an exception for industrial laboratories and patient care areas.

In NJ - there is no requirement as you describe....we are under the '05 [210.8(B) is the relevant section w/o any amendments]
