GFCI on AFCI

If the outlets in a room are protected by an arc fault breaker, can an exterior outlet be run off this curcuit and be protected by a GFCI receptacle without the AFCI interfering with the GFCI. Is this NEC legal or do you have to run an entirely separate curcuit for exterior outlets.
