John we know the NEC requirements and the NEC does not specifically require 50 amp GFCI, it is one of two options that will be up to the electrician to decide.
Allen said it was a POCO requirement.
I was curious if the POCO really requires it or someone fed Allen a load of hooey.
When this came to be there were probably 100 t poles set that week and the POCO Progress energy wouldnt hook up the first one until thay had 50 amp gfci protected receptacles in them.Have I seen it in writing well no but I can tell you that the POCO refused to hook them up until the gfci was installed in them.
