GFCI protection with modern PVC plumbing

Thank you all for your replies. We kinda assumed the same thing: In a bathroom with all plastic plumbing and no water flow, a breaker would trip from a short, a GFCI will probably never trip (unless running water provides a path.)

Hopefully, no one will be in the unfortunate setup to find out the hard way.
