I don't think anyone is arguing that the receptacles on the kitchen countertops don't need GFCI; we know that those receptacles do need GFCI. The issue is the receptacles in the living room, near the floor. There is no code requirement for them to be GFCI, even if they are within the reach of a 6 foot cord from the receptacle to the kitchen sink.Originally posted by triphase: Key word is "serve counter tops" 6' rule does not apply
