Actually ya never know.
My old inspector in a small town in southwest VA knows this forum.
Was getting a permit once and glanced at a wall and lo and behold what do I see: Charlie's Rule.
I replaced a GFI receptacle. The existing one failed. The line side on the neutral had melted and the wire was discolored. The GFI is feeding a bathroom receptacle and a closet. The receptacle also has a refrigerator and freezer combo unit plugged into it. The wire connection was tight. The load is about 17 amps I'm guessing if the hair dryer and fridge are on at the same time. It is the plastic around the neutral terminal that melted .Do you have any idea why this happened? Thanks

You [ might ] offer to have an Electrical Engineer render an official interpretation" Unfortanatly he is the cheif inspector for Baltimore City and his boss is not an
electrical guy. I have tried in the past to respectfully question him and he gets very
angry. "
