Would a Gas Fired car wash Heater/Pump have to be GFI Protected?
It calls for a 30a 250v 1ph Feed. There is no mention of GFI Protection in the Instructions but the Inspector is Requiring it.
This piece of equipment will be in the equipment room remote from the car wash bay, With a TL Receptacle and Cord for the Disconnecting Means.
The operator uses nothing other than the spray hose outside.
Is there anything in the code that requires it to be GFI Protected?

I don't know of any code requirement for anything other than 15 or 20 amp, 125 volt rated receptacles to be GFCI protected. Your situation is certainly not addressed in 210.8. Ask the inspector for a code citation.
