GFI or not?

Installing new outlets in an older home, heard that I needed to put GFIC outlets in every bedroom. I am doing the wiring myself in my own home, I find this hard to believe. Is it not an arc fault breaker that I need to install in the panel itself for each room? This house is being renovated in Ontario.
