As far as Gfi's go, even in warehouse/storage/manufacturing buildings, there are no requirements for gfi's in other than kitchens, bathrooms, & rooftops?

No, check out 406.3(D)(3), 422.49, 424.44(G), 426.32, 427.27, 511.12, 517.20(A), 517.21, 525.23, 527.6, and so on (I got tired of searching).

In Washington State, yes, any occupancy uses the residential GFCI requirements. This is a state code admendment to the NEC.
