GFP for equipment?

Trying to figure out how 230.95 would apply to ground fault protection for a 1200A fusible service disconnect for a 277/480V solidly grounded wye system. If it’s to protect equipment, how is that accomplished through fuses. Noted on plans there is to be a ground fault indicator to be installed in a readily accessible location. Also appears load side of fused 1200A service disconnect feeds a 1200A I Line breaker which appears to have GFP settings on it? Is this what is protecting the disconnect? Maybe that makes sense. I’ve heard of bolted pressure switches. Don’t really understand this concept. A little help please. Thanks.

You would use a "Pringle Switch" / "Bolted Pressure Switch" as the disconnect that can have a shut trip coil added to it.

Sounds like some clarification is needed from the designer. If the 1200 amp fusible switch is the service disco. then you will need it to be a bolted pressure switch with GFPE.
