Gimble fixtures

Has anyone used the "gimble" type recessed fixtures? What are their ic/nic ratings? Are they 2 1/2 " diameter?

Gimble is a style, sorta like eyeball. Could be any size.

I installed some Gimble ring fixtures on track in a grocery store that were probably 8" in diameter and took an HID lamp.

Thanks Marc! The smaller ones are becoming common. I saw a lot everywhere in Australia. They have a clean sleek look and are a nice change from cans.

Yeah, with the Eueopean influence on lighting lately, the MR-16, MR-11, and GU-10 lamps are becoming real popular. They're normally in the 3" cans.

My only gripe is that those little lamps have a real short life span.

The MR lamps are only a couple dollars, but the GU lamps are more like 10 bucks. Many of these style fixtures are shipping with the lamps in the packaging.
