He tells me how its sunny and 80 and I tell him how I have an 1' of solid ice on my back steps.

I'll send you some gloves so you can chip that ice away. Can you move the computer to the back steps?:D

How do you ash your cigar if your hand are in your pockets all day?

That took me a moment to figure out. :)

I don't put my hands in my pockets, I refuse to acknowledge the cold.

Unless there is a serious wind chill once I am working I don't notice the cold.

But.....put me down in your area and I would spontaneously combust, I am milky white and can sun burn very quickly..

Hand covers

Hand covers

Depends on the weather, I perfer the leather ones for winter and kevlar finger tipless in summer, with mild weather the brick mason sytle, dipped cotton.

All of that based needs of the job or with extreme weather - two pair, and all that if I can keep up the pair that I'm trying to wear...

gojo (found in auto parts stores for under 5 bucks) makes a high tactile glove grey with palm dipped in some kind of black rubber. I cut the end of the thumb and index finger off.
These have saved me from hunderds of hand cuts I cant imagine working without some kind of gloves

Thats what I use the basic brown jersey gloves but I cut the fingertips of the ends for stapling etc.

That's what I use in the winter, when it's warmer I use the cotton ones with the blue or red vinyl on the palms (too cold for winter)

Depending on what I am doing I wear cheapo leather, form fitting gloves or the cotton with the little rubber dots. When I need fine dexterity, I take them off. In the winter and I need the mobility, I tuck a couple of the cheap hand warmers in my pockets, just a few seconds will loosen the digits up nicely. It's good to have someone else footing the bill.

Gloves

I wear leather welding gloves here in the winter but I am taking them off and putting them back on all day. I keep several pairs around the job sight so I don't have to spend time looking for a glove.

The only things I've ever been able to do with gloves on is dig ditches and cut firewood.

supply houses usually sell cheap cotton gloves by klien ors omething for a couple dollars they work fine..i usually just wear gloves to keep the pvc glue off my hands or keep my hands protected from rope burn :)

Rag wool fingerless....from my local grocerie store (King Soopers) 6-7 bucks a pair...have worn them for 10-15 years. One pair usually last a season. I buy a can of silicone spray and hit the palms a bit, gives me the grip when needed, and still flexible.
