Just curious what others have done in the way of marketing their biz? (other than referrals)

For example:

• SEO
• GBP (Google Business Profile)
• Ads and what kind? (Google Local Service Ads / LSA, FB or IG Ads, Bing Ads, Google Ads)
• Social Media
• Local FB Groups
• Billboards
• Flyers
• Radio Ads
• etc

Personally we use SEO, GBP and the book of faces business page just to keep people knowing that we are around. We pay to play on SEO to be if not at the top then close to the top of the list when people look up electricians or other key words. ALSO, don't be a slouch when asking for reviews, especially on the customers that you know would hit you up with 5 star reviews. It makes a good showing when others look you up on Google. Currently, if everything goes as planned, we are out till almost May on residential re-wires and service calls and we are putting in bids for small commercial jobs starting in July.

I guess just being good has worked for me. Never done any advertising or marketing. Dont even have business cards or a name on my truck!

I’m just a one man band anymore, still have a small yellow page ad, van is lettered, but what works best of all is the quality of your work and customers do talk and refer. Work for a good GC that keeps you busy and with the customers that are happy with the work I can quickly book out an entire year at a time.
