Gounding

When gounding for a low voltage cable connection to a houses external utility power mast with a galvanized strap can a dialectric gel be placed between the strap and the power mast or does it need to be a dry connection to between the strap and the mast?

Why would you use dielectric gel? Maybe No-Ox

If you are talking about silicone grease I can't see what that would do. Are you sure you are using a galvanized steel ground strap? All I have ever seen are copper. You aren't using perf strap that the plumbers use are you?

Whatever, just put it on good and tight and forget the grease.

A dielectric is an insulator. Therefore you would be wasting your time if you used a dielectric between you strap and the conduit.

straps are only allowed for indoor telco use, Not for outdoors.
