Greenfield or cut 90 elbow to connect to panel

I'm adding a sub-panel on the 1st floor to clean up all the old circuits that run from the basement to the 1st floor. 1 1/4" EMT. I'd like to connect at the panel with a 90el but I'd need to cut one leg of the 90 to fit under the joists. The cut line looks like it's close to the bend radius so I might not be able to seat a set screw connector properly. Should I just hit the easy button and use a short piece of greenfield? See pics.

Can't you shorten the horizontal run so that the el comes down the side of the panel then use an LB into the panel side?

Good idea. I'm not sure I can physically pull three #3 wires, and one #6 thru an LB attached to the panel. I'll give it a try.

My other idea was to cut the 90el and use a short body compression coupling. The nut is able to slide up to my cut line. See pic...
