Greenlee Cable Cutters

My dad who is currently 92 (God bless him) taught the trade to both my brother and me. In any case, he gave me his Greenlee Cable Cutters (Similar to the Greenlee 706) years ago. I was wondering what the best way was to sharpen cutters such as these? I'd like to restore them if possible.

Wet stone... or take them to a knife shop.
Old old cable cutters become quite dangerous when the handles get loose..
Hang it on a plaque?
