Hello,

What is the significance of inspecting/testing underground ground grid system? What is the difference between ground testing and catholic protection station?
Would the testing be performed by "injecting" current into the grid at one of inspection wells and measuring voltage to determine ground grid resistance?

Would the resistance go up over time as copper begins to corrode?

Thanks for any feedback.

Can't answer your question on testing underground grid, perhaps required by some ansi standard. Cathodiv protection impresses a DC voltage on to a metal structure or pipe, ground testing used a fall of potential meter. Go to megger or amec website for more info, it will explain your last question
