We found an ongoing ground rod test at the school football field today.
A fixture had fallen sometime in the past and left the wires hanging over the edge of the broken ballast enclosure. One firmly faulted to it. No equipment or grounded conductor to any of the poles, only rods. 5.4 amps via earth.
Rod and acorn were visible above ground near the pole so we stuck a screw driver in the earth 6’ away and got a pretty firm 99 volts between the two. Fortunately the cb enclosure was above 8’ and the metal bleachers were about 6’ from it. They had a 107 volt difference.
