I don't think you are being lazy in your research and I'll go out on a limb and say, I don't think Bob does either.

IMO, I think it has to do with SPG. I cannot think of too many incidents that could arrise in a residance, but in say something like a plant whre it is possible to come into contact with two pieces of equipment fed from different feeders or branch circuits, if one had load current current flowing in the EGC circuit, it is possible a hazardous difference of potential could exist.

Dereck,
It happens every day to people working on water pipes. We are also talking about second buildings. The problem at a remote building would be the same as at a single building.
