Groundrod testing

I am installing runway lighting with a counterpoise. I have to drive a groundrod at every 500ft. and test the rod before cadwelding it to the wire. I am not sure how to test it. Any help would be great. Thanks.

You may want to look at the specs on the test too. In the past I've done jobs that required a certain maximum ohm rating for the ground rod. On a couple of those jobs it meant getting ground rod couplings, then driving as many as four ten foot rods on top each other to get the desired result.

If possible you may want to drive all the rods and sub this portion of the contract out to a firm that has the equipment, the knowledge to use the equipment and in many cases the techs are NETA certified with calibrated equipment that may be a spec for many airport jobs I have been involved with.
