Re: Grounds twisted together

Still don't see any reason to do this. It looks weird and is ridiculous to have to work on.

Re: Grounds twisted together

I looked at my Buchanan tool today and says right on the handle "Twist all wires" Now I don't think that it is sooo ridiculous to apply that logic to grounds in a panel going under a screw. As a matter of fact, I remember someone on this forum mentioning the listing on their ground bar kit required it just like the Buchanan crimps do.

Huh!

Re: Grounds twisted together

I'm just saying some guys are used to twisting grounds when they use copper crimps. Then they do it in the panel because they just did it in every switch box figuring it can't hurt. I know several good electrcians that do this.

Re: Grounds twisted together

In the mid to late 80's , before grounding bars became a requirement, we used to take every NM ground wire, form a bundle, then make 2 90 degree turns on the end to make a "crank handle" then crank 'em up to form what looked like 1 500Kcmil bare conductor, and lug it to the panel.

In residential, additions are common, but removals are rare.
