Wow. I love my in-laws but that is waaaay too close. You're supposed to get close enough that they don't need to stay the night when they come visit and far enough that they can't come all the time. Somewhere around 1.5 to 2 hours away should be good.

you would think so, but mine have seemed to make that gap a lot narrower than than previously imagined.

I see no soap dish built into the tub enclosure. As a decent, caring in-law the least you could do is take the cover off the panel so they will have a storage area for soap, shampoo, etc.

Custom medicine cabinet? - with over-current protection....

My best guess is this bathroom was added without planning.Nice tile job.No inspection .Not much you can do now but move the panel or face to the other room.This will give you plenty to do while visiting inlaws.

That was my first thought was nice tile job. Too funny.

This reminds me of a service I had to upgrade once and when I went into the house I see they built a huge 8x10x4ft deep COI pond out of block and a pool liner right in front of the main panel. I actually started planking across the top of the pond and was lying on the planks trying to unscrew the cover when I looked into the water and the fish were staring at me with the pumps and airaetors running bubbling in my face I am looking at a fish 12 inches from my face staring at me and I said to myself self WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING!! I just packed up and left and told the homeowner when the fishtank is gone I will come back. They actually called me back to do other things there.
