Handwritten notes

I am close to being able to take my MA journeyman's test, and was told that handwritten notes in the NEC book are allowed. Does anyone know of a good basic reference to find out how I should use the limited space available. i've already written down some basics like the formula wheel, unit conversions, etc.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Handwritten notes

For my exam (TX) I utilized A. Basic theory - Various rules concerning ac and dc circuits included peak and apparent values, power factor and induction/capacitance.
B-Motors- Rules for figuring ampacity and feeders. Basically copied some of the instruction from Mike Holts study guide.
C-voltage drop formulas
D- Steps for doing calcs for single family, multifamily and commercial and optional single family.
Write neat as you don't need poor notes when under pressure. Good Luck
