hanging 4' floresent lights off of emt

if you run 3/4 emt 30' up in rafters and put twistlock plugs at this hieght. can you hang chain or wire off of conduit to hang your lights down at 20'?

Are you using the EMT as a raceway (conductors running in it)? If so, then 300.11(B) IMO would prohibit this.

You could install a separate EMT and hand light from it, but not the conduit you install as a raceway.
