Happy that I really had not failed on my last fault locate, (within 3' with TDR), sad that I forgot to disconnect the TDR before my last meg check @ 500v.

Not sure yet, but am not holding my breath either. Dang.

YIKES!!!! We'll keep our fingers crossed. Let us know if it survived.

Right here.
I have so many good days all strung in a row that a few bad ones here and there are okay with me. Too bad yours also involved potentially blowing up a nice TDR.

What's a TDR unit cost? This post has me curious, as to whether I add one to my "tool box". Of course the cost will influence if I have "room" for it.

Thanks

The tdr I was using is a Megger CFL510F. It is the only one I have had experience with, and not much of that. Turned out to be somewhat of an educated guess instead of a WAG on the fault location. Customer thinks I'm a genius and I'm still scratching my head.
