I can't see anybody complaining about wiring run in conduit. It's a gift. (y)

It is, unless there a junction box between the two outlets your working on (my case) and you dont know where the h*ll its at (most likely buried, or in the attic which had about 10" of height and I couldn't crawl through). But yes other than my lucky case it is a gift.

I don’t see how that would work. See my post above.

Most panel flippers hate AFCI's, because their head is stuck in the fuse box with the breakers.

They can't visualize MWBC wiring at first outlet openings, with load-side cables separated from 3-wire line on standard breakers.

Making that paradigm shift to AFCI outlets per 110.12(A)5 can avoid lots of breaker costs & aggravation with MWBC's.

Unless you're dealing with a spider junction in the attic, since AFCI outlet can't go the attic where it's not accessible, you may be stuck with breakers.

You got a great point there sir, 100% agree

Junction boxes are supposed to be accessible with conduit same as any other wiring method. The fact that it was done with conduit would make me believe that it was done by somebody with some experience and would know that. Not like some handyman or DIY throwing around some Romex.
