Hello all,
We are installing about 300 8 foot fluorescent fixtures in an industrial facility. The fixtures are hung from around 12" of chain. The spec for the fixture layout indicates that the fixtures should be hard piped (EMT), even though they are hung from chain. To me this is not only bad design but I have always thought that if an item being piped will move it had to have some sort of flexible wiring or raceway, I.E. cord, greenfield, sealtite, etc. When I brought it up I was told to show in the code where it was not allowed. I have looked but I cannot find anything. I know this is a bad idea, but is there someplace in the code that I can point out that doesn't allow it?
Thanks
