I often wonder why some codes get through and some do not. This is one of those that don't make any sence as There would be more problems with a cord connected hot tub out side than inside but one of the problems I see is maybe they figure that you couldn't maintain more than 5' from the receptacle? just another one of them iffy codes.
The problem is If we don't follow them and somthing happens inwhich someone were to get hurt or even killed guess who they come after? Yep us.
