I've seen adds for a 3 pack for $12. No covers, just the receptacles. I wonder if they work?

For tract homes and other applications where price is the primary consideration, I install the inexpensive $4 GFIs from China. I typically find that 1 out of 10 do not work at all.

That's a pretty horrible failure rate. Doesn't the cost of labor to replace the dead ones wipe out the savings for the cheapies?
