Anyone has experience with using HDPE pipes? When and where should we use it? Can it better than PVC or rigid conduit? Thanks!

It works very well, especially for long runs. You don't have many joints to put together since it is normally on a reel. Just be sure to use it underground since it is not permitted exposed or in a building. The utilities have been using it for quite a while so it has been put into the code. Cable in conduit has also made its way into the code. :)

One thing to watchg out for is that the ID on HDPE may not be the same as PVC. Make sure that you have enough pulling space. Also, in comparison to PVC, HDPE is not as strong so it will probably have thicker walls.

I was fortunate to use Cable-Con for the first time last year. The project consisted of running power to 10 new irrigation circles, fairly long runs. Load the reel up, roll it out, and bury it. WHAT A TIMESAVER!!! Use the Sur-Lock couplings to transition over to pvc at the stubups and you're done. Simple.

(COW?) How about rope ware through long swooping bends, on long pulls?

I too am considering using it to feed my barn, and see it as a big labor saver, but have no experience with it.

and you can get it with some sort of teflon like slick coating on the inside, where the inside of the pipe is like that sim-pull crap from southwire. Used some innerduct with that coating inside and the cable flew through it.

That "teflon like slick" is on the outside, too.

PVC glue will not stick to HDPE.

Cable-Con is HDPE with the conductors already installed in it. This was the first and only time I've used this type of conduit. It showed up on two 6000' reels. The irrigation pivot co. supplied the wire for us so I don't know what the min. order is either.

I was reading about this a week or so ago and one thing I noticed was the statement that said you had to re-round the pipe after taking it off the reel (I have no ideal of how you would do that). I've used MDPE fuel pipe and it is slightly oval when it comes off the reel.
