I remember the day when I was a kid, we had to walk to school through a blizzard. Uphill. Both ways.

My parents and 17 siblings lived in a shoe box in a culvert that flooded every time it rained. We had one bean every day to split between all of us to eat. We had no electricity, so we read our emails by candlelight. We were forbidden to remove the bait from the mousetrap for a snack as that meant we'd miss our next meal. We were so poor, if you looked up the word poor in the dictionary, our picure wouldn't be there (no on in the family owned a camera). The only time I got new clothes is when someone died. You know the store Crate And Barrell? It's modeled after my first apartment.....

I remember being so poor & not having a piece of cheese to put in the mouse trap, so I carefullly placed a picture of a piece of cheese in the trap one night, and in the morning, I caught a picture of a mouse.

I know it is hot and brutal BUT, it is weather, when it is cold people want it hot now it's hot and people want it cold. While I do prefer spring and fall, I take the weather as it comes.

AND THOSE IDIOTS BROADCASTERS.

Don't go outside. OK I'll tell the customers I'm not coming today.
Wear a floppy hat. Yeah and be laughed off the job.
Drink plenty of water. Well DUH!.

Saw a local station trying to fry an egg. Talk about hack reporting.

Pretty nice this morning. In the low-ish 70's. Little bit of a bear this afternoon if you have to stand out in the sun. I see your humidity is at 45% ours is at 7%. Might make a difference.

Having experienced both desert heat out your way and our usual New England heat and humidity, I can say that I prefer the desert heat only for the lack of humidity.

I'm so broke, I can't even change my mind.

We we so poor, when burglars broke into our house, they would leave money.

We were so poor, the front door and the back door were on the same hinge.

We were so poor, we had a tumbleweed for a pet.

We were so poor, we couldn't afford 4-letter words. So we called ourselves po'.

We were so poor, every time Mom tossed a bone to the dog, he had to signal a 'fair catch' else us children would beat him to it.

We were so poor, our house was just a bunch of termites holding hands.

We we so poor, the only way we could have decorations on our Christmas tree is when Grampa sneezed on it.

We were so poor, the rainbows we saw were black & white.

We were so poor, we would go to KFC and lick other peoples' fingers.

We were so poor, we moved every time the rent was due.

We were so poor, we would unplug the clock when we went to bed.

We were so poor, my cradle was an orange crate.

We were so poor, we had never heard of 'mashed potatoes' until my older brother joined the Army. When the potato famine hit, we actually benefited from it.

In the totem pole of life, I'm the part that's below grade.

We were so poor....when gramp died we couldn't afford a headstone, so we buried him sittin' up.

we were so poor.....I'll never forget the night we had the Pastor over for dinner and there was one pork chop left and all us kids was being mighty polite and not grabbin' it. Suddenly the power went off....and do you know, when the lights came back on, I had five forks driven into the back of my hand!

I 'member Momma using ear wax to polish the kitchen floor.

Our luggage consisted of 3 Hefty bags.

We used to eat Cheerios with a fork in order to save on milk.

Back on the real topic.....;) We are having 100 degree days, not normal here in June, about 5 in a row so far. I have been running back and forth to our sewer plants the last few days. VFD's over heating, PLC's overheating, Out in the sun changing out mixers, aerators, AC units. It has been a hell of a week! Sweat running down my glasses and I can't see! No rain in a month, so all of my hard labor in my garden has gone to waste!

I'm just bichin' LOL

Actually the weather here has been pretty nice, only in the 80's during the day and cooling off nice at night. Supposed to get into the 90's this weekend and into the 50's in the evening.
