Help ASAP Splitting Wire for 2 Terminals

twoskins, your not showing what the breaker wire ranges are, IMO if the wire is larger than what the listed wire range says, its a violation.

The range is up to 8awg and that is an 8awg wire.

Although I was asking about violating the wire not the breaker.

I don't know if it violates the breaker but I concede that it could.

The wire listing should never come into play. If the terminal is rated for the wire, there should be no need to split the conductor. The OP is trying to put a 500kcmil conductor in a lug that is only rated for 250kcmil. thats where the conversation should stop. If the breaker that you showed is rated for the # 8 awg, then it should have been installed without splitting the conductor apart.
 
Forget about the terminals listing and think of the conductors listing.:smile:
