I would like some help with industrial machine installs, and the supply circuit protection required.:-? I understand sizing multi-motor feeders/branch circuits, but the problem comes with manufacture's nameplate data. In 670.4 C, it pretty much says use nameplate data, or 430.52/53. I guess what I'm getting at is if the manufacture list the equipment at a certain KVA rating, at the required voltage, then I should be able to size my branch circuit at this value without calculating the individual largest+ sum of all other loads. I know it sounds lazy:grin: , but why would they put the data on there in the first place?
