I believe a little while ago there was a post and a link to a trailer hitch mounted plow for direct burial of conduit and cable....

does anyone remember it? can you find it? a search here doesn't bring it up...

Yes, we've used one our farm. Your best bet is to visit your local ag implement dealer and ask for a single tine ripper with a pipe laying attachment. Ours was old, so I don't have a brand name for you. We called it "the mole" but that doesn't seem to bring up much in Google.
