I have a test on wed. an I don't understand and can't find much on this topic "parallel series circuit combinations". If anyone could help me on this I would really appreciate it. I'm using my moms computer but will be back over here tomorrow night after work or after school depending on when I get off. But as you can tell I'm new here and not quite sure how this works, but willing to learn and could really use some help.
Thanks mwsmith, Indiana

If you understand OHM's LAW and how to solve basic series circuits and basic parallel circuits on their own, you will have no problems with combination circuits.

Every combination circuit has the same basic configuration. The circuit is really just a series circuit with a few paralleled resistors in the middle. Solve all the parallel resistances (which will simulate the two as being one resistor) and then solve the resulting series circuit.

I just took the 3 hour Journeyman exam on Saturday... nothing on mine on combination series and parallel. Just one question I can recall on parallel.

It did have wattage and voltage drop I Sq. R losses. Many questions on Hazardous Locations and conduit fill. Bill in Iowa

I'm off to take the test. Wish me luck and thank you very much for everyone's help. This is a great site, and a beginning apprentice like myself and other apprentice I hope really appreciate you taking the time to help us and guide us to at least find the information we need to learn. I hope to be here someday doing the same for everyone else. Gotta split and take the test, wish me luck and good luck to all of you in your adventures in the electrical world..........I'll be back for more guidance, I'm sure. This is a great site everyone joining together to help one another. Ok gotta go .............mwsmith, Indiana :D :D
