The Lutron one is nice, but wont work in many high wattage bath designs, or those requiring energy code compliance - i.e. fluoro loads.

And if looking for periodic though out the day - Intermatic seven day sounds more like the ticket - most have just contacts from a battery operated relay.

Are you looking for certain times?

Yes im looking for it to come on everyday on its own at a certain time, maybe around 6 30 Am and 12 Pm and 7 pm. I remember that intermatic use to make them for the inwall to handle bath fans but now it looks like they dont make that kind anymore at least not so expensive anyway. This is basically for a rental , the residents will not turn on the fan long enfuff when they use the bathroom. Even after i had it wired for when the light switch is is own the fan is on. Apparently that is not enuff cause soon as they leave the bathroom they turn off the light. So i was just trying to find a CHEAP in wall timer that will turn on the fan and turn it off through out the day , everyday 7 days a week, and is not dependent on them (residents).

Here is an intermatic in wall timer that is good for 1/2 hp motors as well as lights.

Thanks for the info. It looks like according to Home depots site they DO carry what im looking for, but apparently when i went there (twice even)they just didnt have it.

Heres the link. I just wish some those 'sales clerks' knew what they were talking about when i asked them about them!! they claimed they only had the the kind that was on the shelf. So i print this out and take it to them for them to see it from THEIR website.

Yea, HD usually stocks timers, photocells, T101s away from the rest of the devices. Sounds like you got a typical cubby worker there.

So Ah... whats the deal - they have a mold problem, steam, funk??? And now I must ask - is the E bill in their name? If looking for a wall box timer - it would still be under their control - right? Do they want it on - or the landlord? Truthfully, there could be housing or tenants rights violations in this....

I would suggest the EI600.... Contacts rated to 1HP, since you need 21 on, 21 off times.... It has 40 on/off. Maybe you skip weed-end mornings....

It will also operate when THEY want it on, and be able to shut it off in case this is the loudest fan ever made, and want it off....

Sorry - I'm about to go on my "Its just a Rental" - 'Of course they're not human' RANT.

IMO put in a watt stopper to operate for for five minutes max past any movement in the shower/bath - and have it control the quietest fan made - a panasonic. As well as have it powered from the owners/house meter - if this is his/her idea. This way it is only on when necessary and usefull - and the person who wants it pays the bill for it.
