Hi my friends ,

I am doing now a project , load calculations of office ( 6*30 ) meter.

So ,one of the main load is HVAC load.

How can I determine the required HVAC LOAD for such 180 square meter area.

is there any standard that i can use ?

For example , lighting load , there is a table in NEC , that shows volt-ampere per square meter ?

is there one for HVAC ??

sorry, but ya REALLY need to KNOW actual HVAC plans. You can attempt an average, HOWEVER you could be wrong in either way by a huge margin!

Better just get REAL figures from the HVAC contractor, or better still, make it a requirment of the bidding process!

That way you are excused from that part of the bid.

Don't even attempt to guess. It's potentially big dollars out of your pocket if you're wrong. Get the real numbers as EI suggested.

There are two main issues. The first is outside air temperature and how it affects the space. This is calculated by ACCA Manual-J. But if your office is surrounded by others (above, below, and on the sides) so you have no esterior walls, then this could be nearly 0.

The second is heat generated by equipment installed in the office. If you're the electrical contractor, you should have a good idea as to what this is. Most of the power utilized will be dissipated as heat in that room. 1KW-Hr of power equals 3412 BTU/Hr. You get can get close on cooling load by summing all the electrical loads and converting to BTU.

A third area is the heat generated by people. This could be minor or huge depending on what kind of office it is.

That being said, there could be humidity issues to deal with too. It would be best to find an HVAC person to answer this question. You just need to give him input on the electrical loads.
